As the night slowly made its withdrawal, rays of sun permeated through knotted branches in splinters so faint, they barely reflected off a fresh carpet of snow. Thus to no surprise I woke with flakes deeply embedded in my melanoid pelt, engulfing me to create immaculate camouflage among my surroundings. Lime green eyes peeked from thick lids to provided evidence of life to an otherwise inert ball of snow piled in a make-shift den. Alone this morning, I had deserted Sarbi for the time being after our brawl over a rabbit which I had provoked for the sake of teaching her the rules of hierarchy. I felt it better for her to ponder the consequences and aftermath alone while I proceeded to discover other of my followers. Motivation was dramatically increased after discovering Sarbi, satisfied that all the rebels in the once tightly knit community of Darling had not deserted me. This in mind I gathered my paws beneath me and eagerly stood up, shaking the snow from my body which simultaneously worked at cleaning my fur. Glistening in pure ebony, I caught even the dimmest rays of sunlight as I trotted amongst the decrepit looking trees. All their foliage had died this winter, leaving their limbs bear and appearing to disarm themselves of their bark when the temperatures dropped suddenly. The time was near for such occurrences, but their bareness caused the forest to appear much more open than usual, yet still secluded.
Being the Alpha, I send out a howl to vocalize my position to strays and those insecure, echoing in my surroundings and carrying for miles. Then all my motions became repetitive – indiscriminate pauses to sniff the ground for other wolves while also marking my territory. This had become my routine in the past month since the official split of the original anthro-wolf community, though it had proof of some worth considering no Loyalists had trespassed here. With Sarbi’s return came the hope that others were also around; hopefully more mature females who were in season. Paws suddenly refused to move at this idea, growling in a low tone of impatience before continuing my travels.
Creeping alongside one of my more familiar trails something stirred deep within my groin. There was a diminutive spark of sexual lust yet more concern of the foreign odor which perturbed my nose and my mind. An ominous cloud obscured my thoughts at the slightest hint of an anthro-wolf being within my land, only assuming it to be one of those untrustworthy damned Loyalists. Even the scratch of a rabbit in the near-by leaf litter could not attract my attention – regardless of my hunger – as my skull lowered and a deep snarl was emitted past clenched fangs. The bitch was local so I only assumed she’d heed my warning and retreat or come out from hiding to confront me.

She arose at dawns first light, her dark lips pulled back in a slight grin. Lips parted as a flash of pink flicked out to taste the cool, crisp morning air. The ebony femme rose onto her paws, and stretched each limb before beginning her journey. Legs switch at a fair pace, bringing her to a light trot, her blue optics observing her surroundings carefully, making sure to make note of everything, so as not to get lost. Her path covered in patches of snow and perhaps ice in some places. The wind dragged along the melodies of howls, her auds stood erect capturing the song, then trying to pin-point its origin.
She lowered her cranium, to allow her nose to sniff the ground, picking up the scent of other wolves, she followed the scent wanting to find some company. Paws tapped the ground slowly as she walked. The forest seemed even more ominous today, every now and then there would be a growl or snarl that would echo about, and this made the fur on her neck bristle. She hid in the shadows that the sun’s rays had not yet disturbed.
This time the snarls sounded closer, she could’ve left, but there was no one else she knew, so perhaps this was her chance to make a friend, but first she’d have to show this one she wasn’t a threat. She took cautious steps from her place among the shadows, ears flattened against her head, tail tucked, she lowered herself close to the ground to show that she was no threat to the larger male. She didn’t speak just yet, she wanted to make sure that her submission didn’t go unnoticed, and she wouldn’t curse herself by speaking out of turn.

Auds pinned to my skull while lips withdrew from lethal fangs, all instinctual reactions to the foreigner's sudden appearance. Lids became shudders across my orbs, lime green eyes appearing to squint as I scrutinized the submissive appearance of the fae. There was obvious caution in every step she took in approaching me, revealing that she was obviously aware of of either my status or the danger she was in. Tucked tail showed insecurity while her slow and crawling procedure were my motivation not to immediately attack. Aerial sensors gently flicked foward as my tail continue to arch across my back, deeming superiority over the bitch before the shifting of my legs brought me nearer her. I postured at her left side in challenge just to ensure that she had no interest in fighting me. Skull inclined to sniff at her body, grimance upon my face as I sensed the human inside of her. Jaws snapped together in obvious disgust but I calmly moved away from her side to sit down, stare blank and expression detached.
What is your purpose here? Surely no Loyalist would wander here in such a manner, thus I assume you to either be Rogue or having an affiliation with the Pack. For your sake, pray it is none of the above.
I spoke as regally as I sat before her, ebon frame tense with the undulation of muscles. I spoke with some formality in my tenor but with complete seriousness, having no genuine interest in the fae. Lime green eyes penetrated her blue with judgement, my expression revealing a multitude of thoughts occuring all at once in my brain.

A feeling of fear flushed over the young fae, as the male drew nearer, she did not flinch even as he sniffed her body, it was obvious he was disgusted with her scent, perhaps the fact that she wasn't a natural born wolf. She sat to face him tail wrapped around her paws, ears still flattened upon her dome. She would not look him in the eyes, lest this be taken as a challenge.I-i am not a loyalist, and i am not a rouge, nor am i a threat you, your territory, or your pack. I wish to join your pack my lord; forgive me not being able to address you more formally but i do not know your name. My name is babylon. She stammered, her tongue folding over itself and twisting, trying to shake the fear from her voice and still speak loud enough for the alpha to hear her. She struggled to keep the unwanted tremors of her body unnoticable, but couldn't help but show her fear, it was undeniable that the male was larger than herself, and if he should attack there was no gurentee she would get out alive.

Instinctively I fed off her fear, her apprehension radiating around us both and I percieving it as weakness. This occured for only mere moments as my rationality returned, the passion shared between an Alpha and an outsider seeking acceptance soothing the adreniline which provoked me. She trembled profusely and I cocked my head in observation, auds pricked forward as she stuttered her retort. Her rebuttal and body language was proof enough of her honesty and I immediately relaxed before her. There was an obvious nessecity for other Pack members by the lack of wolves around. The fact that I, being the Patriarch in these parts, had no other wolves around me to guard my back while encountering this foreigner was proof enough. Now there was another addition to a group that was slowly growing and I half smiled in as welcoming manner as possible towards Babylon. Demeanor transition from authoritarian figure to protective figure.
My gaze now reflected some scrutiny as I continued to posture before the fae though put in no effort to strike at her. My nose buried itself deep in parts of her fur all over her body. At times my own body touched hers in a manner of acceptance, stripping her of her nomadic odor and covering her in my stench. Tail raised slightly as I pulled back again, scenting the air for signs of her estrus before my full attention returned to her. I reclined to haunches just before replying, tenor crude and placid.
My kind are neither accustomed nor welcoming of your type, Babylon, but if you are smart enough to seperate yourself from the Loyalists and seek allegiance with the pack, then you shall not be denied. My name is Coheed, the Alpha of the Pack. Welcome.

A glance up revealed to her a smile, a small welcoming grin. she lifted her head, and dared to look into the alpha's lime green eyes, there she found scrutiny, she watched his movements carefully as he postured himself before her, he did not strike or even make an attempt to. Babylon figured she had earned his trust, for this a small wolfish grin bagan to spread across her dark lips.
The alpha's nose burried itself in her soft fur a few times, and his body rubbed against hers wiping away her loner scent, and replacing it with his pack's scent. To her this was more than just an initiation, this was the beginning of a possible friendship or at least she hoped so. Auds perked forward as the alpha spoke again, she listened intently and thought out her next words carefully before speaking.Thank you lord Coheed, for accepting me into your pack, I give you my word that i will not fail you in any task i am given. My word is my bond. My loyalties are to you, and my pack. The fae flashed an assuring smile to the alpha, now that she finally had a place she belonged a whole new world would open up for her, she was sure of it.OOC:(this is getting really intresting and fun :3)

Facade was kept in the shadows of apprehension and detachment while in the company of the female. I remained justifiably guarded taking into consideration the poor treatment received by most anthro-wolves, let alone those whose allegiance resided with the Loyalists. My lips could not resist but to quiver at these ideas and meaningful thoughts, concerned for the welfare of my pack and my authority should a Loyalist find its way into my Pack. This fae, Babylon, appeared far too reserved and content at being accepted by me to continue thinking she may be a spy, but my gaze remained critical even as she spoke. Her words would appear comforting and satisfy most any Patriarch, yet I also saw her respect and submission to be a tactical way of gaining my trust. My defenses would stay up as long as I was around her for at least a few weeks, depending on how much time we spent together. It appeared that she would be practically attached to my hip which did not bother me; it was how a real pack was supposed to be.
Just remember to watch your back, Babylon. While I understand that turning away all anthro wolves who sought acceptance here would create more enemies than allies, there are other of my members who resent every one of you. Loyalty, trust and dedication will not win them over.
My words were cold and ominous but spoke of pure truth; strictly having the tenor of warning and not threat. No doubt I would do my best to protect the female when I could. There were no guarantees I would always be around though because sometimes, duty called. Once spoken though I became more aloof and casuall as I turned away from Babylon and began trotting through the trees once more. Again, as I did with everyone one of my followers, I assumed she would follow me.
So what brings you to The Pack versus The Loyalists? Surely y'all have more in common.
Tone was mildly distracted as I moved along, sniffing the air and the ground.

Muscles relaxed just a bit, she no longer felt like she was in any danger at least while it was only her and the alpha. She understood clearly that the pack didn't quite trust her kind, but she planned to win them over, and become just like them, as if she were never human. That's what she chooses to believe, for her human life wasn't life was so empty and lonely, perhaps this new chapter in her life would bring some happiness to the sad story, that she'd been writing.I understand completely lord coheed; I didn't expect to be able to gain much trust considering how awfully my kind has treated your own. But I am quite persistent, if I am able to gain even a flicker of trust from your pack, then I'd be content. Her tone always held a respectful tone when she spoke to the alpha, but she hadn't spoken the whole truth, though she didn't show any sign that she had lied, this one wanted complete acceptance, until then she would never be content. Babylon would never feel as though she truly belonged, and that was her dream, to truly belong and be accepted into a real pack.
she broke from thought, watching the alpha trail away from her into the Forrest, she rose from her haunches, onto her paws, and followed him, the two were almost identical, except for her scars, their eyes, genders, and of course their origins. Auds perked, drawing her attention back to the alpha as he spoke.Well as a child I grew up an orphan, I wasn't exactly the most social person around so I didn't really have many friends. In fact my 'friends' were the local canines that roamed around my city. I would share some of my meals with them, and they would keep me company. I guess you could say they sort of became my family, then when I was turned; I couldn't stand the way darling treated natural born wolves or any other natural born canine. I really didn't see much difference between anthro-wolves and natural born. I'm sure natural born wolves are just as smart as anthro-wolves if not smarter, and I don't mean to come off as a kiss-up but that's what I believe. So when the groups split, I knew I couldn't stay with the loyalist, and so I sought out the pack. She carefully chose her words so that she still sounded respectful, but effectively and truthfully answered the alpha's question.OOC(I apologize, I'll clean this up now. I knew what I was typing, but I was running out of time, and rushed. Thus resulting in this extremely sloppy post.)

ooc| Please pay more and better attention to your spelling and grammar. While we have no word count, Darling is a literate role-play. You have repeatedly misspelled words and forgotten to use basic capitalization. We don’t mind helping to improve members role-playing skills, but if you fail to improve this site may not be for you.
Thank you.

Once I realized that Babylon was going into a long speech about her history versus a simple reply to my question I tuned her out. Never once was I interested in the ramblings of these anthro-wolves who all had some sort of depressing story, making their new ‘wolf life’ so much better than who they were. Before I had revealed myself to the original Darling wolf community, I kept in the shadows to hide my cringing and smirking. Around every corner were males and female’s mourning over their human lives or complaining about how much they had been through. Molestation, abuse, rape, death of family members and disease was the talk of the community. There was never any talk of how the day was and god forbid one should bring up the idea of gathering food or finding a place to den down. Then again, the Loyalist community had basically settled down in one place and simply traveled everywhere to find food or somehow bring it to them. Babylon’s talk of being an orphan and having no friends merely annoyed and amused me, randomly glancing back at her simply to give me something to do; surely not to ensure she was still following for her rambling was doing that. Everything that she complained about was apart of a wolf’s life as well, though I reckoned that she hadn’t endured that yet. No doubt our greeting should have been proof and thus a deterrent, yet all she seemed to desire was acceptance; from what? A bunch of mongrel and hostile wolves was what the anthro-wolves considered us. That’s all it was.
Well that’s all fine and dandy Babylon, but all I need was that you didn’t like how the Loyalists treated us. I don’t care about your horrible past or anything of the sort. I had stopped suddenly and turned to address her, smiling with aloofness upon finishing my reply. Lime green eyes pierced her for a second, staring down at her before turning around and continuing to travel. Trust and loyalty are hard things to come by around here, Babylon. While I am expected to care for those of my pack, protect and provide for them, it is somehow up to me to gain the trust and loyalty of those who seek to ally with me. Such an idea came from you, the anthro-wolves and those damn Loyalists. You all have created a bunch of problems, but I reckon I can admire your willingness to dedicate yourself to me.

A slight blush came to her face, not really noticeable on onyx fur, a feeling of embarrassment flushed over her. Ears flattened upon her dome once more; head dipped a little; gaze averted to the ground. Of course he didn’t care, what was she thinking? Why would an alpha care about the stupid little sob story of some girl he just met, He’s got so many other things to worry about or deal with.Of course, I shouldn’t have troubled you with such a stupid storyShe whispered, almost too low to be heard. Babylon paused almost bumping into the alpha that had turned and smiled at her; she lifted her head again and grinned back at him, before continuing on at the same pace they’d been walking. She began thinking again, why was it that this anyone’s opinion troubled her so much? Of course this was not just anyone; this was the alpha of the pack, her alpha, the one she pledged her loyalty, trust, and life to. She was always alone, so perhaps she tended to bond quicker with anyone who accepted her. In this case the bond between alpha and pack member, within her, formed quickly. The fae listened intently as the alpha spoke once more, this time he told her something, she already knew, but none the less, she made no efforts to be rude, it just wasn’t smart to act out or impolite to an alpha. She merely smiled, finding it unnecessary to say anything more.

A brief glance back to the fae's expression spoke of her dismay and regret, and I smiled comically to the observation. It enver ceased to amaze me the type of characters I encountered on a daily basis; one day I'd come across a rebellious female, the next a male who basically worshiped me. I scarcely considered the interlopers and Loyalists worth the effort of thought, though I suppose I granted them special treatment in my mind just then? A brief pause and a quick rub to my face with a front paw and my head was clear, enabling me to continue on without further contemplation of... dimunitive creatures. Then quite suddenly I put out a rather impressive display as every fiber of my fur began to bristle, tail erect and pausing in mid-step. This was a clear indication of a threat and for the female to stop, nares flaring to great widths as I scented the air. Skull shifted in the direction of Babylon although my gaze was kept in front of me.
Did you come with anyone, Babylon?
Tenor was slightly accusational as my gaze returned to the trail before me. My reasonings for the sudden pause remained indiscriminate as a low growl escaped me. Cadaver shifted so that my left side was facing the path, taking a threatening posture while blocking Babylon in a protective manner.

She trotted behind the alpha, holding he small smile upon her face. Ears flicked back in thought, where were they going? They just seemed to walk on forever into nothing. maw opened slipghtly in preparation to speak, but babylon decided against it, it was best not to be to annoying especially since this was only her first day meeting the wolf, and she had just become a member as well, that could disappear quite quickly.
Things began getting tense as the alpha began to hint at a threat. His fur bristled and he suddenly froze, she stopped close to Coheed. Perhaps this would be her chance to be useful to somebody; perhaps gain just a bit more trust from the alpha. His skull turned to her but she could not catch his gaze, then he spoke. No, I came alone m'lordShe looked around for any physical signs of what troubled the alpha so much, the scent was apparent, but there was no sign of the creature that he felt threatened them. She tried looking in the direction the alpha was facing but still could see nothing, eyes locked in that direction and ears perked froward in intrest, yet she could not resist the tug on her lips that pulled them back slightly revealing a flash of ivory. Her muscles tensed even as the alpha blocked her with his own body, whatever this threat was, she'd be ready for it.

I was not completely sure was made me feel so insecure either as I sensed Babylon's confusion at my sudden defense. Glancing back at her I took notice of her readiness to fight as well, though it was more my duty to lead and participate in an attack than a female whose fighting capabilities I was hardly aware of. I knew that I was constantly on edge anyhow due to the divide and never truely knowing who was on my side and who was at my side ready to attack me. Presently I was more unsure of my surroundings than insecure of myself, but with a quick sneeze I dismissed my anxiety but persisted to traipse in the direction I had sensed another wolf. Their I was not surprised to find the prints of other canines as well as the scent of blood. They had either made a kill - whoever they were - or someone was hurt. I did not recognize any of the odors thus I could only assume they were not familiar witht the Pack; no doubt either rogues or Loyalists. My lips quivered with displeasure before turning and looking at Babylon; having assumed she had followed me.
"We have unwanted visitors Babylon. Be best to watch our backs."
My voice was suddenly gruff and coarse as I gently moved past her, coat brushing against her own.
"So, what do you hope to accomplish in the Pack? Earn a rank for the sake of having one, seeking protection...?"
I, being the Alpha, had heard and discovered many reasons for any wolf claiming thier loyalty to me. Mostly it was to their own gain than mine, thus my direct question was meant to throw the female off guard yet perhaps get the truth out of her. complete // N/A word count // -- I'm really sorry for the delay, again x0

Something seemed to pull her forward, as if she were on some kind of leash, for when the alpha moved so did she, and then her gaze met his lime green eyes as he turned and spoke to her.Of course m’lord. She said with a slight nod of her head. She felt the alpha gently brush against her shoulder as he walked by, a small smile spread across her maw then twisted in thought searching for a response to the alpha’s question. What did she want to accomplish in the pack? She hadn’t really thought of it before. Of course every fae wanted to become alphess of, but a quick rub of her face and as shake of her head dismissed this thought. There was no way any natural born wolf would accept her as their mate let alone an alpha, and especially not one like Coheed who had been treated so badly by her kind.In all truth lord Coheed, I really don’t have something I wish to accomplish, I am simply here to serve.Tail swished idly from side to side as she spoke, her tenor always respectful when she spoke, as if I never changed.
