About
The Pack cannot be considered the typical wolf pack considering - aside from their experiences with The Loyalists - they too may have members who were once human. However, The Pack is much more wild and 'normal' when compared to the average wolf pack. Regardless of where they came from, the members of this group fully believe that a complete conversion to their animalistic side is nessecary. As this pack is also made up of naturally born wolves, those who used to lead a human life have support and role-models for their 'transformation'. This decision enables The Pack some greater positives than The Loyalists: (1) greater cooperation among individuals with respect going to those with authority, (2) a more simplistic society and life-style with the utilitarian view of doing what's best for the pack as a whole, (3) strictly the strongest and smartest make up The Pack, making the group as a whole stronger. Their main concerns consist of where they'll find their next meal, shelter and increasing their population. However, there are some downsides to this chosen lifestyle: (1) they are more likely to fall ill, be hurt and even die since common sense is sometimes neglected, (2) lose vital members due to their 'survival of the fittest' views, (3) emotions and intelligence play less of a role in The Pack where as aggression and hierarchy are more important.
The weak, ill and disrespectful are not accepted here. Those who are disobediant or step out of their place are immediately attacked, while those who cannot keep up are easily abandoned. Every action of The Pack is controlled by the Alphas as a couple, with the only division being by rank - no gender is better than the other. Eating, drinking and 'the best patch' is accessed first by the highest ranking and then goes on down the line - leaving the Omegas and even the Pups without if enough prey is not killed. Breeding is typically restricted to the Alphas and Betas, though with a few human-gone-wolves here there is no doubt that some rule-breaking and promiscuity will occur.
None the less, The Pack considers themselves a family and will do the best to take care of everyone. There may even be some influence from the newer wolves who once led human lives - it's unknown at this point. The Pack can often be more accepting than The Loyalists to new ideas, but a difference of opinion - especially from a wolf lower down - is often looked down upon. The Pack seems less of a democracy than The Loyalists, but looks could be decieving. Wolves have been around for thousands of years so The Pack proves it's way of live works through ancestry.
Notes
Not every wolf may meet the stereotype of The Pack, but for the most part everyone shares the same views; remaining as human as possible will go against their new found destinies and bringing the wild into their lives will increase their survival. Human ideas will no doubt influence The Pack - if it's permitted - and perhaps help the group more than they may realize. Not every individual has to abide strictly by the guidelines of a normal wolf pack, but do understand there will be consequences - just as in The Loyalist society. Things here are often more harsh, yet less strict at the same time. Here, the Alpha Male and Female are also referred to as The Royals or The Alphas. Obviously fighting may also occur here with the mixture of natural born wolves and human-gone-wolves, and The Pack may also be concerned with battle with the pressure of The Loyalists; but it's no different as your average pack having the rival of another wolf pack.
Hierarchy
The Pack is very dependant on their hierarchy; it's the decision maker behind who gets to eat, drink, breed and more. However, they have become slightly aware of how much favoritism goes towards those of higher rank and how the rest of The Pack may become neglected in hard times. They try their best to be fair, but when it comes down to it the top dog will always come out on top. Alphas and Betas are chosen by who is the strongest and most loyal to the initial Alpha; though typically the Alpha makes the final decision as to who gets to go where. Pushing your weight around is nessecary to survive, just don't push the Alphas (especially) or the Betas.
The Alphas: Alpha Male and Alpha Female; The Alphas lead The Pack in every hunt and fight, make the decisions when to move from one location to the next and decide when it's time to bed down. Unlike The Loyalists, both the Male and Female cooperate as a pair and make all final decisions together, with neither being above the other. They both take part in punishment for disobediance and disloyalty, often pairing up together. Scarcely is their disarray between each other, but during stressful times they may get in scraps themselves. The Alphas offspring are considered to have more authority than the Betas, forcing all other wolves of the pack to be obediant to even a newborn if they have royal blood.
The Betas: Beta Male and Beta Female; Sometimes the Betas end up a pair, but usually they are two seperate wolves that have nothing more in common than their rank. They work together as well though and help in protecting both the Alphas and the rest of The Pack. They are strictly obediant to The Royals and are often less patient; sometimes.
Followers: Proven loyal members of The Pack are strictly referred to as a Follower. Just beneath the Betas they are in a fairly good position, and are often on the edge of becoming Betas themselves should the position open up. They also take a greater part in hunts than Omegas, thus often getting the opportunity to feed, and are sometimes scouts to go ahead of the pack to check for both prey and enemies.
Omegas: These wolves serve no other purpose than adding numbers to The Pack. They are basically at the lowest part of the totem pole, but are not completely neglected. They are taken care of but don't always get what they need - they get food but not enough to make them full, they get shelter but may not be adequate enough to protect them from the elements. Regardless, they are loyal to The Pack with hopes of moving up. The Omegas are the typical babysitter of The Pack.
Pups: All of the offspring of The Pack is commonly refered to as Pups. Though their position in the hierarchy depends on their parents, they are still cared for as much as possible provided with plenty of food and babysitters.[/blockquote]
