While residing in the forest I had sent out a cacophony of howls and snarls in order to separate shadow from wolf. My every intention was to announce my presence with the utmost authority and declare it safe for those dissenting from the Loyalists to head my way. However as another incentive, my calls were not only beckoning but also initiating a hunt. Although the Alpha Male, without others in my pack I had no other choice but to prey on small creatures when the need arose to find food. The occasional baby deer was grand but now was not the season for any sort of offspring. Most bucks were fighting off rivals for the right to mate this time of year and I had every intention of striking one down. With the help of a few females or one brawny male, I could get my wish. Then again I was familiar with none of my own gender of my affiliation, and part of my flared with the potential for a fight arising with one of my own rather than an item of prey. My position as well as my innate demeanor damned me with not only a sick sense of humor, but also the continuous instinct to drive it into every wolf’s head who was boss. All who disobeyed were either promptly put into their place or killed; more than once did I have another turn against me, and every time I had others to back me up and rip them to shreds. I could remember none of their faces now, yet assumed it to be for the best.
Now in Krachen Belt where most of the deer and other herbivores resided, I resorted to my more silent and stealthy tricks to navigate my way into the field. The nearer I got to the area the quieter I got, using my musk as a scent trail for others before cutting off all signaling so as not to spook my intended prey. Those I was after were much to involve in their own battles to notice me anyhow as I spotted a trio of doe, all three of which were staring observantly at five bucks. Auds were pricked forward and my ingression ceased as I listened intently to the clash of two brutes going head on, the other three watching just as their female counterparts were. To my misfortune I had to avoid being seen by both the females and the uninvolved males, but I did not permit this to perturb me.
The forest which clung to all sides of the meadow proffered me easy coverage, and I used it to my advantage as I navigated myself as far from those observing as possible; mainly the does. The two fighting were engrossed in their battles as deeply as if they were having sex and I smirked at their ignorance. Once in my desired position, appendages bent to lower my body to the ground and body straightened to perfectly align my skull with my shoulders blades and my shoulders blades with my spine. Tail was cocked and still, my movements slow and precise with auds pinned and head low. There were moments I could not see them the grass was so tall and I so low to the ground, but I could hear them. I quite literally came between the bucks and does who were observing – who were of course spaced far apart from the battle, and got about 20 yards from the two fighting. The smaller one was naturally more worn out and my nose pointed in his direction as my target. I could easily run him down but I wanted his death to be swift as well as the engagement of other wolves to come early.
A loud howl started the attack which immediately spooked all of the deer. The two fighting hesitated just long enough for be to wrap my jaws around the weaker ones back leg. A kick caused my release but I pursued at a slow canter, chasing him intentionally parallel to the trees and down the middle of the meadow to make it easier on myself. I continued to snap, snarl and bark at the deer as well as vocalize my position. Focus was still maintained on the buck while also observing my surroundings for others. I thought I saw a shadow but disregarded it was one of the bucks fleeing comrades. Another howl- much more superior and impatient – should drive any of my species from hiding.

Several howls shattered the air. I knew who it was, of course. But...well, I found him intimidating. He knew I was of his pack, I think. But well, Coheed can scare the shit out of just about anyone. Besides, he's basically a walking god. Who am I to answer that call. Surely he wanted someone with, I don't know, more experience? Anyway, I was laying in the sun, minding my own. My stomach growled, voicing it's discomfort. I believed the last time I had eaten had been days before.
Great body rose to a standing position. Tattered auds heard the call again. Maybe I should answer. Gingerly, cranium threw back and a howl escaped my usually tight kissers. Turning on a single hind leg, I bounded into the trees. It shouldn't take me long to find him. Afterall, he was still calling and had left a scent mark a newborn could follow. Well, I should be more specific. A newborn true wolf could follow it. Those worthless anthro-wolves were far too dense to understand tracking: yet another reason why they should be disposed of.
Suddenly, the scent trail ended. Large paws pulled up short, ceasing all forward movement. Another scent hit my quivering muzzle: deer. More than one. My pace quickened to as fast as I could get without alerting the prey. A few breaths later, I was upon them. About that time, I noticed that I hadn't heard the great Coheed's howl in the last few moments. He must be in their midst, but I couldn't make out his scent. He was good like that. I hunkered down downwind and waited for his next order. Suddenly, his voice filled the air once more, scattering the deer. It was easy to see which one he had chosen.
I ran with the alpha and his quarry within the shadows of the trees. If I could just get a little extra speed. There, I had it. I was passing the quickly tiring buck and crashed out of the undergrowth ahead of him just before Coheed howled again, demanding. The sudden appearance of my body caused the deer to stop. He was too far for me to get ahold of, so I simply held my ground, not allowing the buck to change direction. It would not be too entirely difficult for the alpha to finish him off this way. Afterall, he was bleeding heavilly from his hind leg.

I was closing in fast and was ready to make the kill, scarcely aware of another’s presence by neither smell nor sigh. I had no reason to fear anyone around me less they gathered in rebellion, but surely none of my followers would do that. I had too many loyalties hiding out hence my incentive to drag them from hiding. Apparently I had done that all too well as I noticed another male just before the buck stopped. I too halted though not out of confusion as my prey had done. The buck was stunned while I glared at a wolf I saw as my adversary. I took his stance as aggressive considering he neither retreated nor approach and an aggressive snarl permeated from my gullet. Instinctual hunger silently took over as the buck turned his left side to me, tossing his horned skull and giving me the opportunity I needed. Muscles tensed in my hindquarters as I reclined onto them, permitting my energy and aggression against the male to send me forward at the buck’s throat. The leap was more than even I intended and if I had not launched onto the preys jugular I’d of gone sailing. I encountered a bit of whiplash but the snapping of vertebrae announced a quickly induced death to my lunch. It screamed, flopped awkwardly as I came sailing down and landed roughly on my right side – still firmly holding it though my grip had slipped. Once satisfied that it was dead I withdrew, observed its mangled neck and then turned my attention to the male.
One may have assumed I’d of addressed him, but males were a different story than most females. This one was particularly large and brown coloured, reminded me of some hit-man from a mob I had overheard some anthro-wolves speaking about at one point. Unaware of his exact position of the fence, caudal appendage made its characteristic curl across my spine in a dominant fashion – always the first warning sign of an attack. Hackles were still raised and lips quivering as a snarl ripped the atmosphere. Lime green eyes darkened with hostility, auds pinned. I found that many wolves were more familiar with me than I was with them – then again, I was open with my defiance against the Loyalists, they all remained secretive. Admired me from afar they did. Males doing such were far from that list in my opinion, and either sought power or to overthrow me; or so I had convinced myself to believe. Worked quite well for them to never get the best of me.
What the hell do you want?
I stood protectively near my kill, unaware if he had taken place in taking it down or not while I was flying high in the air. I just knew he was still standing their in almost the same position as before and my discontent was obvious.

I held still and watched as my alpha sailed through the air as if he were made of it. Honestly, I didn't even want to know how he had managed that. As soon as he had the buck by the throat, my tail dropped in a respectful manner. Unconciously, large paws carried my backward to a respectful distance. It was his kill, I would eat only if he allowed. My gaze lingered on a disappearing doe a little way down the meadow as my stomach growled once more. I was hungry.
"What the hell do you want?"
Dome turned back to the alpha so fast, a loud cracking sounded from the vertibrae in my neck. A shooting pain followed and quickly ceased. A strange sensation, but nothing I couldn't handle. However, Coheed's tone was something I was not ready for. My first thought was that I should not have answered his call. But, I was loyal to him, right? So why couldn't I answer. Well, then how should I answer his question? With the truth...great. With my eyes properly averted, I answered.
"First, not to displease you, m'leige. So please forgive me if you believe me to be a threat. I merely heard your call to hunt and joined you. If this was wrong, inform me."
Slowly, great body lowered to the ground, gaze always away from the alpha of the Pack. I was not groveling, I was respectful as any omega should respect the alpha. Especially when said alpha seemed to be pissed off. I didn't know what to do. After a moment, I stood back up. There was nothing in my posture that was in any way threatening. Besides, after seeing what he did to that buck, I didn't want his fury aimed at me.

The brujo had in fact withdrawn himself from the presence of the deceased animal and me, and his stature was familiar as being submissive. This did not negate my hostility and ominous demeanor as I continued to slowly approach him in a stalking manner; snarling and growling, body low and holding an ominous glare to my opponents gaze. The male’s retort was pretty straight-forward and not exactly what I had expected, but it didn’t mean I was satisfied either. I grinned with amusement as I paused in my ingression, now about 3 feet from the burley beast. My gaze lightened slightly though as the male appeared to be no threat, continuing to submit and stress his compliance. I could find no prove of either his actions or words being gainsay, thus with a snort that plainly disregarded him as something grotesque for now I carefully turned to my lunch.
Of course because your just an obedient little crony.
Mumbling under my breath and half speaking over my shoulder, I spoke off-hand which was obviously meant to mock the brute. I had no knowledge of just how well I had hit the nail on the head, but with the prospect of having a good meal my concern quickly shifted from the male to the deer. Even though I was the Alpha I could have offered the kill to my ‘helper’; after all, he had helped and the buck was large enough for us both to feed on without having to fear not getting enough. Being the type to dominate and show my superior however, I growled once in the male’s direction before sharp fangs broke the tender flesh of the underbelly. After about 20 minutes though, my aggression had mostly subsided and my posture relaxed. Ebon muzzle was glistening with blood and my paws and claws were dripping with flesh. Slowly my stomach enlarged yet not to the point of gorging; I had that brute to concern myself with. I paused once and looked at him, still not altogether welcoming yet my behavior had changed. I was not permitting the brute to eat in the same place I was, but the backside of the buck was fair-game. Now that I had claimed my spot and declared my authority for the past 20 minutes or so, rationality returned.

My paws felt heavy with hunger. I ran as fast as my sore legs could carry me. They wobbled under my weight, threatening to collapse. I reminded myself to stay strong, while on the inside I could feel panic starting to build up in my chest. Slowing my pace, I took in a few cautious breaths. No scent of life anywhere. Cursing the forest under my breath, I started on my way once more.
That small break seemed to make a big difference, for I ran faster this time. But not long after, the weariness returned and the mucsles in my legs were screaming for me to stop. Sighing to myself, I stopped reluctantly, struggling to keep myself from fainting. My stomach once more demanded for food, but like all the other times, I ignored it. My eyes narrowed slightly. A growl of annoyance escaped my maw. Exasperated, I lowered myself onto my haunches, flinching as my shoulders cried out in pain.
I only remained in the clearing for a few minutes, before staggering to my paws and padding off again. By now I wasn't even sure what I was searching for. My hopes of a good meal were melting away along with the rest of the heat in my body. I quickened my pace, the panic rising, and eventually ended up face-first in a snow drift. Damnit. I snarled, my voice muffled through the deep snow. By now I was definetly ticked off. I muttered a few more things, and began trying to wiggle out of the snow.
I tried not to laugh at the thought of a wolf padding by to see a rump in the air, the torso no where to be seen. I could already feel the ice melting from the heat radiating off my body. I shivered uncomfortably as the cool liquid began seeping into my fur. Hissing a few more curses, I shoved off with my hind legs and found myself tumbling across the clearing into another snow bank. At least I'm head up this time. I thought crossly as I desperatly gasped for air.
I was still pissed as I came across a border of trees. The air reeked of the Pack, and with a final shudder, I crossed the scent line. I padded along for some time, wary of any other wolven I might come across. I lifted my muzzle to the heavens, my heart almost leaping out of my chest as the distinct scent of blood filled my nostrils. As if jerked back to life, I started half-running towards the overpowering stench.
Gulping for air, I waited paitently behind a wall of brush. Bracing myself, I leaped into view, the only thing on my mind was the prey. I glanced down to see Coheed, the Alpha of the Pack, and suddenly realized my error. I stumbled backwards clumsily, the back of my head colliding with the rough bark of a tree. I passed out momentarily, and once I regained conciousness, I could feel my pelt getting hot with embarassment. Nice going slick. I inwardly kicked myself over and over again. The event didn't exactly brighten my mood, not to mention I had lost my supper, made a complete fool of myself and the worst thing: I had totally and undoubtfully pissed of Coheed.
Sorry. I mumbled halfheartedly. I cocked my head at the Alpha, my eyes narrowed coldly. Part of me wanted to know how he would react, part of me didn't, for it probably resulted in me getting the living crap beaten out of me. I gulped nervously. Sorry for being a... I searched my mind for the right word, but it never came. I just hung my head, squeezing my emerald eyes shut, and waited for the end to come.

occ:// SO sorry for the lateness! but..... DONE! Auds pricked as Sarbi heard howls. White clad fur was were dusted with brown. She had been tracking the herd most the morning. Coheed had told her to track the herd, and she had. Yet he choose to bring down another animal. Males. Sarbi pivoted and loped towards where she had heard the howls. Her paw pads pressed into the dark earth, her black nose scenting the air as she came closer. The heavy, rusty smell of blood hung in the air. As Sarbi entered the kill, she saw other wolves. Her lip curled, her tongue flicking along her canines as her auds went back along her skull. Tail puffed for a moment, her hackles raising along her soot dusted snowy spine. She settled as she realized they carried Coheed's masculine smell, part of The Pack.
The first one was a brute, a considerably large and muscly brute. Russet/ maroon colored fur adorned his body, some type of black undercoat giving the appearance of his fur always cast in shadows. The second wolf was a female, a female that was strongly scented of Coheed. She was primarily black, with lighter gray dusting in her coat. She was small and skinny, obviously built for hunting and speed. Great. I'm the only light coloured wolf in the pack. Sarbi padded up to Coheed, greeting him with a quick, quiet bark. She would lay beside the kill, waiting for Coheed to start eating. This would signal the rest of the pack to start. She rested her small, lithe body down on the forest floor, her head resting on her dusty forelegs.
Sarbi eyed the others as she waited. She sized them up, seeing their strengths and weaknesses. So far, they had two strong males that were good a fighting, and two lithe, quick females that were good at hunting. Sarbi sighed as her stomach gave an audible growl. Coheed has snapped up the rabbit she caught this morning. She still felt strange about sleeping with him in the same den last night, she had been alone for so long. Even though she did not know him that well back them, at least she knew him from the old Pack. She looked up at him hopefully, green hazel eyes clear and crisp as normal.
