April 11, 2o1o; WOAH! So like, everyone at once had to go on vacation, got grounded, had an unexpected trip or got into a car accident x0 Seems everyone has pretty much returned though so the Activity Check has been started. Be sure to reply to it or else you'll be deleted.
March 24, 2o1o; Prior to our monthly Activity Check starting April 1st, three members have already been deleted due to not getting on at all; Anne, Le Fallout and Slade. Those on vacation during the time of the Activity Check will be considered safe as long as you've posted on the away board. If the members who posted as away do not return within the week after their originally posted return, they too will be deleted.
March 19, 2o1o; Something new has come to Darling called CLOSE ENCOUNTERS. This account was created to indiscriminately impose on character's threads created by the members of Darling. Random events will then occur such as accidents (injuries to the character), natural disasters (tornado, avalanche) and attacks (predation by bears, cougars and other animals). Said character(s) involved targeted by the CLOSE ENCOUNTER will then have to role-play out the events and the after affects, thus giving the site a more realistic side as well as more interesting. March 1o, 2o1o; Hello new members and welcome to Darling. Obviously, read all of the site information and rules before starting your application. If you have any questions, feel free to post on the FAQ board or PM a Staff Member. Also, there is no post minimum requirement but we do ask that you are literate and post to the best of your capabilities; no one liners and no three sentences to a three paragraph post. Now have fun role-playing and interacting! Site officially opened March 12, 2010.

Come here with any and all of your questions pertaining to DARLiNG. All questions will be saved and moved to a seperate thread, after being answered by staff, for other members to have reference to. Thus before posting a question, be sure to look over the questions that have already been asked to ensure that you don't already have an answer. Activity Checks will be done monthly and as needed and will be posted here. They usually last a week from the 1st of the month to the 7th. While updates will be posted and messages sent out to notify members of Activity Checks, it's always a good idea to check the board at random for those 'surprise' checks.
Any new updates in the plot and on the site can be found here, typically in chronological order from most recent to the oldest. Nominations will also be held here for Member, Character and other Of The Month choices. Check this board EVERY DAY because you don't want to miss out on anything.
Before role-playing on DARLiNG you must first Create Your Character and basically 'apply'. Be sure to read all the rules and information before doing so, and use the code provided in a seperate thread on this board for the ONLY application form that will be accepted.
Once your character gets accepted, the biography will be locked and moved here to avoid confusion with the incomplete and denied. If, for whatever reason, you need your bio re-opened then be sure to let a member of Staff know.
For the sake of our sanity and to avoid disarray, members may keep up with their characters, information and whatever threads or plots they are involved in here. You may also come here to create plots and find others to join, or request plot involvement.
It's the worst thing to happen to any character but sometimes its the inevitable. When a character goes inactive or a Writing in Progress is left incomplete, they will be moved here and left to settle beneath the dust. Hence why they are the Old(inactive) and Broken(incomplete).
Justifiablly named for being at the highest point of The Mountains, The Apex is snow-covered, cold and rocky. A whistling wind can woo any visitor into tranquility and the snow is so old here, its compacted into a thick layer of what resembles ice. The atmosphere is pretty intense but an ideal place to find solitude if one can ignore the squaking falcons who nest here.
Ancient conifers span the majority of The Mountains and are unevenly spread out most of the lands facade. The snow remains even at this level but is in moderate patches while completely disappearing during the spring and summer months. Anything from deer, rabbits and even bears wander around Eden - so called because the variety around the forest - with a few rocky boulders jutting harshly from the ground.
Though feeding into the Azul Fall down in The Valley, the majority of Deer-Head River flows wildly through out the The Mountains. Its many prongs and smaller creeks fed by the river created an image which the wolves compared to the antlers of a male deer, hence the name. Here, which is the biggest part of the river before it splits off into smaller channels, supports a variety of fish and birds year round. Some parts through out the mountain freeze over during the winter; the fast flowing rapids the only section whichs stays liquified.
Towards the base of The Mountain but not directly apart of The Valley are the Moorlands. Being stuck between two discriminate regions, the area seems indecisive in it's appearance. While the ground is quite level and flat, a variety of rocks and boulders have fallen from the mountains and settled here. Meanwhile, coarse patches of grass have found their way from the valley creating ideal habitats for gophers and rabbits. The Moorlands are routinely sacrificed to heavy wind and light showers yet the terrain remains reasonably infertile.
Perhaps the biggest contributor to the region's collective name of The Wastelands, Devil's Barren is a dull yet sacrificial land. The ground is made up entirely of shale and is heavy with sand and dust. A few battles have been fought here when the wrong wolves came across one another perhaps adding to the gloom of the territory. The land is in constant overcast from the shadowy clouds of the Moorlands, keeping the climate in an uncomfortable stand still.
A massive and long cascade of crystal blue water descends a sharp overhang of The Mountains. Declaring an end to a river, Azul Falls collects in an even larger pool that is deep, with grassy banks and a collection of pine trees bordering it. Behind the waterfall is a small, moss-covered ledge which can be accessed from the pool; a nice hide-away, but dangerous if one should slip. This is often a refreshing spot for many animals.
Sitting between Azul Falls and The Forest is a clear expanse of open meadow, bordered by confiers on either side. The meadow itself is a pallid gold, darkening and lightening in some areas where the trees cast shadow. The area is slightly humid with the moisture coming from the falls. Prairie dogs and squirrels dominate the area but are amusing to watch.
Deep in the middle of The Valley lies The Forest; simply put. High and looming conifers appear squished together as if they had no room to grow, creating a dark atmosphere. The Forest is often quiet, filled with fog at dawn and dusk with crooked pathways that could cause the most experience wolf to get lost should one stray from a well beaten path. Remaining green year round, the prey here is plentiful and always well fed thus a common hunting place for most wolves.
You may come here for anything whether it be ranting about your life, boyfriend/girlfriend and school or creating a game just to pass the time. I'm sure you can even come here with your problems and get some advice, though we don't guarantee all advice will be good(lol!). Just remember to be nice and respectful to everyone. Do not bring arguments to the OOC board.
It happens to the best of us and while unfortunate, we all need time away. If you know ahead of time that you will be inactive for a while - whether going on vacation, work or school has got you tied up or you just need a break - be sure to let everyone know so you aren't deleted.
For those who want to test out a table, graphic, coordinate colours or make a thread to do all of this for other people then here is the perfect place to do it! You can even test stuff here for other sites or for your own site if you need to.
Once a thread goes inactive, is old or is role-played out it will be moved here to avoid cluttering the boards. If a thread is closed and moved that was originally active, notify a member of Staff of the name of the thread and around the last date it was posted on and it will be retrieved.
The only place where members and guests alike may advertise and promote their sites on DARLiNG. Be sure to read all rules before advertising and make sure that your site has not already been posted here within the past month.
